This Can Hurt was founded by JP and Jack sometime at the end of 2014. It was clear from the very beginning on that these two gentlemen teaming up would prove to be a recipe for success. The combination of their musical excesses was nothing short of a chemical reaction and instantly both knew they had stumbled upon something rare and worth caring for.

Following a year of intensive songwriting, their debut record “When Nothing Matters” hit the shelves by the end of March 2017. Several reviewers praised the band for having an international standard, throwing in references to the likes of Muse, Nine inch Nails, Triggerfinger, Deftones, Massive Attack, …

The single “Colder” quickly made it to the charts and managed to stay there for several months. It also found its way into the playlist of several international radio-stations and earned the title “highlight of the year” in Italy.

Following the success of “When Nothing Matters”, JP decided to switch positions behind the mic.   They say when opportunity knocks on your door, you should open up and let him in. So when Sven came knocking on the door in August 2017, JP did not hesitate a second to hand over the front.

As we speak the new album is being mixed and set to be released on june 1st of 2019.  Two singles were released so far ( you can listen to The Fall of Mark E. Smith and High Tide in the ‘Music’-section) As you’ll hear it is not easy to put your finger on the style of This Can Hurt, there is no band we can name doing something similar, so we decided to call it Industrial Post Wave… Whatcha think?
